Binary.com has been around since 1999, but was named BetOnMarkets.com until 2013. They are one of the pioneers in the field, and now handles over 1 million transactions a day.

Binary.com have several subsidiaries around the world, to comply with local regulations. The subsidiaries are owned by the holding company Deriv Limited, which has a registered office at 47 Esplanade, St Helier, Jersey JE1 0BD, Channel Islands.

Within the European Union, Binary.com operates through the subsidiary Deriv Investments (Europe) Limited, W Business Centre, Level 3, Triq Dun Karm, Birkirkara, BKR 9033, Malta. This subsidiary is licensed and regulated as a Category 3 Investment Services provider by the Malta Financial Services Authority (license no. IS/70156).

Underlying assets

Binary.com offers binary options based on underlying assets such as currency, commodities, company shares, and indices. A large part of the total selection is binary options based on currency.

Types of binary options



  • Up/Down. This is the basic type of binary option.

  • Touch/No Touch. With a Touch binary option, you get paid if the underlying asset reaches a certain point at any time during the duration of the option. The No Touch binary option works in the opposite way.

  • Ends in / Ens out. These options are about the asset price ending within, or outside, a predetermined value range.

  • Stays in / Goes out. The underlying asset value needs to stay within, or outside, the predetermined value range for the duration of the option.

Platform

With a Binary.com account, you can use a variety of trading platforms, but only some of them offers binary options.


  • The standard proprietary Binary.com platform. It is sleek and basic. Some traders love this minimalistic style, while others find it lacking in features.

  • Binary WebTrader. This platform is popular among very active traders who keep a lot of positions open simultaneously. It opens in the web browser window.
